Fr Woods builds school in Port of Spain
THE many generous Drogheda folk who contributed to the fund to erect a Girls’ High School in the parish of Rev. Oliver J. Woods, O.P., P.P., St. Martin’s Presbytery, Port-of-Spain in Trinidad, will be pleased to learn that the establishment is now officially opened.
The school, which accommodates 500 students, was erected at a cost of 100,000 dollars and carries a debt of 80,000 dollars. This year its senior pupils will bo sitting for their G.C.E. examinations. From September of next year the centre will be run by the Carmelite Sisters.
Fr. Woods, who is elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Woods of Hand St., Drogheda, is particularly well known in the north east section of the town.
