Fr Woods builds school in Port of Spain

THE many generous Drogheda folk who contribute­d to the fund to erect a Girls’ High School in the parish of Rev. Oliver J. Woods, O.P., P.P., St. Martin’s Presbytery, Port-of-Spain in Trinidad, will be pleased to learn that the establishm­ent is now officially opened.

The school, which accommodat­es 500 students, was erected at a cost of 100,000 dollars and carries a debt of 80,000 dollars. This year its senior pupils will bo sitting for their G.C.E. examinatio­ns. From September of next year the centre will be run by the Carmelite Sisters.

Fr. Woods, who is elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Woods of Hand St., Drogheda, is particular­ly well known in the north east section of the town.
