Charles Haughey is Slane guest

DECEMBER 1973: Deputy Charles Haughey (pictured above) was guest speaker at the first annual dinner-dance of Slane Comhairle Ceanntair held in the Conyngham Arms Hotel. The function was attended by upwards of 200, and apologies went out from Colr. H. M. Johnston to all those unable to get tickets, due to the limitations on space. Deputy Haughey was loudly applauded by all present and formally thanked for his attendance by Deputy Brendan Crinion and Mr. Robert Doonan. Music for the dance, which followed, was provided by Thomas Darby and his band.
