ST PATRICK’S

-

HARD luck to our U-14 girls who after a really gallant performance lost out by a point to a strong Geraldines side in the U-14 League final on a scoreline of St Pat’s 1-3 to 0-7.

The girls battled hard all over the pitch in every position with Kate Hanlon, Rachel Hynes and Roisin Butterly giving strong performances in the defence in front of their goalie Niamh McGeough who was outstanding throughout taking off some brilliant saves particularly in the first half when the Geraldines had the advantage of a strong breeze and led 5 points to 1 at half-time.

After the break the Pat’s girls who were now playing with the wind were winning lots of possession in the middle with midfielders Saoirse Butterly and Evelyn Donnelly getting plenty of help from wingers Tara Suresh and Katie Conlon who added a goal to her first half point.

Nicole Barry scored two points but the Gers were just doing enough to keep their noses in front and came out winning by that single point. Pat’s Niamh McGeough, Sophie Grey, Aoife Gartland, Kate Hanlon, Robin Griffin, Roisin Butterly, Rachel Hynes, Saoirse Butterly, Evelyn Donnelly, Tara Suresh, Muireann Clynch, Katie Conlon 1-01, Nicole Barry 0-02, Molly Woods, Ella Boyle.
