TWO St Patrick’s Stamullen men, Ronan Kearns and Daithi Whyte, played crucial roles in Meath U-17s’ Leinster title success against Dublin at the Gaelic Grounds last Saturday.

Kearns, who worked with this group of players at Under-16 level, has proved some of the critics wrong and is revelling in his role as manager, while Whyte is his ‘righthand man’ patrolling the sideline.

‘Both teams had to play two games in less than a week and the Meath players are probably hurting a little bit now,’ Kearns said afterwards. ‘At least we came out on the right side of the result and that will definitely help the body to recover a bit quicker.
