DUNDALK LADIES
THE Open Four Lady Team Event was played on the 15th and 18th July. All proceeds from this competition went to the Lady Captain’s nominated charity the RNLI.
This was a huge success with 46 teams participating from Rossmore, Castlebar, Greenore, Mullingar, Rosses Point, Lourdes, The Castle, Milltown, Castleknock, Headfort, Kilkeel and St Annes.
The winning team had a fantastic 89pts taking first place. At the presentation evening there were many representatives from the RNLI in attendance and Noel Phillips spoke about the work they do and the new lifeboat they are purchasing for their very important work.
This new boat will be capable of working in shallow waters. It is costing €2m and Noel was delighted with the monies raised by the Dundalk ladies.
Lady Captain Maeve remembered the crew of the R116 and welcomed all the representatives and especially welcomed Hermione Duffy.
An art auction followed the presentation with lots of local artists donating work. In total there was over seven thousand euros raised for the RNLI.
