Eamon and Alma return to the Weavers

-

A VERY special evening takes place on the August Bank Holiday Monday when Eamon and Alma Duffy will pay a return to The Weavers, presently owned by ‘ Banty’ McEneaney.

Eamon & Alma Duffy had a huge collection of memorabilia adorning the walls of The Weavers which depicted every occasion and celebrity who ever came to the establishment or indeed maybe to Drogheda.

They will make a presentation of some of this memorabilia at a special “past and present” function at the pub.

There is another touch of nostalgia attached to this evening with the return of “Jump The Gun” who were synonymous with The Weavers back in the previous heady days.

As Eamon says; “When Alma and I decided to move on from The Weavers it was a very successful chapter in our lives we wanted to leave behind and we have not returned since. We have been approached numerous times over the years by former customers enquiring about the memorabilia we displayed.

‘We have kept the significant parts of it in storage. When the present owner contacted us, we decided to relent and agreed to donate a very special nostalgic memento of our time there. We acceded to the request to do this at a special function with our very dear and old friends “Jump The Gun “and perhaps meet up with some of the clientele who were such a great part of our lives back then”.
