ST KEVIN’S SEAN MCDERMOTTS 3-8 0-13

CIAN Callan maintained his recent good run of form as he struck two goals in the last quarter to ensure the Kevins kept up their push for a promotion play-off place.

The McDermotts produced a battling display and were very much in contention right up to the final whistle, but in the end the Kevin’s did enough to come out on top.

The first half of this game in Mountrush saw the hosts enjoy a good share of possession and they made it count as they chalked up eight points.

However it was the Kevins who scored the only goal of the half through Cian Callan to go in at the break level at 1-5 to 0-8.

The McDermotts continued to play well in the third quarter which ended with them holding a two-point advantage. However, Callan then took centre stage as his two-goal salvo ensured the Philipstown men returned home with full points.
