Top piper in the Highlanes

RENOWNED Dunleer piper Brendan McCreanor will perform at Highlanes Azure Alzheimer’s gallery-based programme this Friday 11th of August from 11am.

New attendees are always welcome at Highlanes Gallery’s monthly social session where two or three key artworks are discussed by people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia led by Hilary Kelly.

The current exhibition Bristle: Hair and Hegemony which includes a great array of hirsute artwork from some artists like Harry Clarke, Rembrandt, David Hockney and Kathy Prendergast, is attracting visitors from near and far, and is the focus for this Azure session; the gallery has invited celebrated musician Brendan McCreanor who has selected a wonderful selection of hair inspired tunes and will perform them as part of the session.
