Call for dedicated opening times for Dunleer/ Clogher
GARDAI are attempting to organise dedicated opening times for the public at stations in Dunleer and Clogherhead.
Cllr Tom Cunningham said people were finding it hard to get the station open, even for something like getting a passport form signed.
Speaking at the local Policing Committee meeting, Cllr Pearse McGeough said that if somebody rings Castlebellingham and there’s no answer, the call goes nowhere. ‘People might need an instant answer’, he advised.
Supt Andrew Watters said that calls to these stations go to Drogheda and if there’s an emergency people should ring 999. All calls are electronically recorded.
He said he’d try and get agreed times for the stations in Clogherhead and Dunleer to be opened up.
