Alzheimer fundraiser

Lip-syncing is to make its debut in Drogheda this autumn. The event will take place at the O’Raghallaighs GAA centre on October 14.

It is being organised as a fund-raiser for the Drogheda branch of the Alzheimer Society which is hoping to provide a new day care centre for the town.

There will be a minimum of 20 competitors and, potentially, as many as 32. Judges will be in place to adjudicate on the merits of the contestants, who will be professionally choreographed in advance. And there will be attractive prizes on offer in what will be a novel event in the area.

Each contestant or group of contestants will aim to raise sponsorship of €150 from friends, supporters and work colleagues, and to sell a minimum of 20 tickets each.
