SPECIAL REPORT ON TOWN’S PRIDE FESTIVAL 2017

-

THERE was an action packed schedule of events for the 2017 Drogheda Pride, and it was a case of feeling on top of the world as the event was launched above the town in the historic Millmount Tower.

From here, the proceedings started with a family fun day in The Barbican from 12pm to 4pm followed by an opening party in The Weavers which proved to be a fantastic celebration of all things Pride and the LGBT community in Drogheda.

On Saturday morning the revellers nursed their hangovers and refuelled for the day ahead with a Pride Breakfast in Artisan Foods on Stockwell Street. This was followed by one of the big highlights of the weekend, a street parade on West Street with the fantastic Samba Mamas. It was back to the Barbican Centre for some refreshments before the party continued in McHughs on Saturday evening for the main event with the Ringmaster of Drag Race, Paul Ryder with music from Matthew Noal and DJ Caroline Gormley playing late into the night.
