Vivienne remembers the Irish dancing days in Drogheda

-

To whom it may concern:

What great joy it gave me to see my dancers of the past appear in the Drogheda!

I shed a few tears while thinking about each and every one of my treasured young people of the time - a time when money was scarce, travel was expensive, but nothing could prevent those great parents from giving such wonderful experiences to their children - all of whom I loved and some of whom I am still in contact with.

They were a very special group who practiced hard and performed with great ability and determination.

Their moms were wonder workers making all sorts of ponchos for travel, handmade lace for hair bands etc etc.

They were decked out for all occasions. They all loved to dance and some of their Moms had been dancers themselves so the love of the culture was there. you were great!

I was so lucky to have had all of those extra special people of Drogheda, Clogherhead and Walshestown in my class and in my life.

Thank you Drogheda Independent for your recall of those wonderful days. Parents his kindness. Thank you all for a great time. A heart felt thank you”

Good man Graham and Ardee!
