Sr Anne and meeting with Bono

THE RECENT U2 concert at Croke Park belied a great story surrounding an MMM, Sr Anne Carr.

She spent 32 years in Malawi and while there, met Bono and showed him the 1,000 bed hospital. He was greatly impressed and wrote the song ‘Crumbs from Your Table’ about her.

The Cork woman joined the MMMs in 1968 and trained as a nurse in Drogheda.
