Plan to honour the late Tony Lane from Slane

NOVEMBER 1973: Many people who were members of the former Slane Guild of Muintir na Tire are planning to commemorate, in some fitting fashion the late Tony Lane, who played such an important role in furthering every organisation in the area. Tony, who was the “Drogheda Independent” news and sports correspondent for the entire area of which his native Slane is the centre, devoted all his spare time to reporting on the activities of the various clubs and organisations for miles and miles around.
