Hot-shot Moriarty shines in Curraha win

THE ‘entertainment’ didn’t end at the finish of this high-scoring IFC encounter at Dunsany as players decided to give spectators full value for money.
A brawl ensued after the final whistle and players from both sides seemed to have little difficulty playing out ‘extra-time’ which lasted several minutes.
Whatever about the afters, it was Curraha who emerged victors over the 60 minutes, with Conor Moriarty in outstanding form and finishing with a tally of 1-10.
Curraha conceded an early goal but with Moriarty on target with five points the sides were level at the break - 0-7 to 1-4.
Boosted by a David Toner goal Curraha eased into a 1-10 to 1-7 lead by the three quarter way stage and that increased following another Moriarty point.
Ballinabrackey got it back to the minimum following their second goal and they then managed to edge in front. A penalty goal from Moriarty regained the lead for Curraha who held out in the closing stages.
