St Oliver will be huge Fleadh attraction

I suppose there is always a fine line between religion and commercialism but when it comes to St Oliver Plunkett, surely we must always take the chance to celebrate our own saint.

Next year, thousands will descend on Drogheda for the 2018 Fleadh Cheoil and I expect St Oliver’s head to be a huge attraction.

Thing is, when people visit, they like to bring home something and apart from a couple of excellent books on his life, there is little for people to purchase on St Oliver at St Peter’s.

But pop down the road to the Dominican Church office and there’s a huge array of St Oliver items that are much sought after.

Maybe, St Peter’s could place a note up somewhere advertising the Dominican shop and where people can purchase items if they so wish.
