Richard Davis back in ‘Boyne View’

BACK IN Drogheda last week was 21-yearold Mr. Richard Burleigh Davis, formerly of ‘Boyne View’, North Road. It was his first visit back to Drogheda since leaving to take up residence in Douglas, Isle of Man, over four years ago.

Mr. Davis’ hosts were Mr. and Mrs. Austin Greene, present occupiers of “Boyne View “and it was on their invitation that he visited his former home.

He met many old friends, including John Stewart and Mr. Frankie Flynn, both of North Road, and Miss Winifred Moore of Mell.

Mr. Davis, who is a former pupil of St. Peter’s N.S., Bolton Street, and Drogheda Grammar School, is a member of a family which was long associated with the business life of Drogheda and owned the large drapery premises which stood on the site in West Street now occupied by Messrs Woolworths. different halls in Dublin and have built un quite a following with their particular type of entertainm­ent. Members of the group are Tom McDonnell, John McLoughlin (both banjo and guitar), Pat Carroll (lead vocalist), Pat McMahon (spoons) and Brian Cassidy (tin whistle).
