Wildlife and honey for Dunleer historical group!

PHOTOGRAPH­ER Noel Marry (right) will visit to St.Brigids Hall, Dunleer on Friday, August 25th to show his video “Wild in the Wee County “a wildlife journey from the Boyne river to the Cooley Peninsula in search of the red squirrel, the pine marten the Kingfisher and more.

Noel has taken some amazing wildlife photos, some of which may be on display on the night. Copies of the DVD will also be available for purchase on the night. The Presentati­on begins at 8.00pm sharp and admission is free.

It is promoted by the Dunleer and District Historical Society.

On Sunday, 27th at 3.00pm, Eoghan Mac Giolla Coda, Council member of D&DHS, will present a talk on “Bees and our Natural Heritage “at Listoke House. Eoghan is a 4th generation beekeeper.

He is a full-time bee farmer and breeder of the native Irish honey bee, a member of County Louth Beekeeper’s Associatio­n. Eoghan regularly gives lectures and provides workshops on all matters relating to the honey bee. Eoghan has apiaries all over County Louth, including one at Listoke House.

On two occasions his famous local honey has been a World Cup winner at the London Honey Show. In the past week, Eoghan featured on TV3’s Ireland AM show.
