Slane history group make trip to Enniskillen
Slane History and Archaeology Society Annual Outing is on Saturday 9th September, leaving Slane from the car park on Chapel St.
The trip will include a visit to historic Castle Coole, Co. Fermanagh with its opulent display of 18th century architecture and furniture.
After lunch, they will travel on to Enniskillen Museum which tells the 600 years of family history of the Maguire family and history of the area, before visiting the Inniskillings Museum which has special relevance to the Society this year, 2017 being the centenary of the death of Slane poet and patriot Francis Ledwidge.
At the end of the visit a meal is planned before returning home to Slane.
