EMMA RECEIVES MISS LOUTH CROWN AT GLITZY SCOTCH HALL EVENT
As Miss Ireland celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, Louth is represented by 18 year old Ravensdale student Emma Griffith who was crowned as Miss Louth at the gala evening in The Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford recently.
Just two days after she was selected to represent Louth, Emma travelled to Dublin for the launch party in Krystal, Harcourt Street, Dublin, on Thursday evening.
After meeting with fellow contestants and former Miss Ireland winners, Emma had to dash as she was attending the St Vincent’s Debs, where she met up with her former classmates.
‘I did my Leaving Cert there this year and am going to Maynooth, where I will be studying law and criminology.’
Emma wooed the judges at the Miss Louth finals with her striking good looks as she took to the catwalk in a variety of outfits and answered their questions as to how she would represent the county and country if she were selected as Miss Ireland. She spoke about her interest in music, having played the violin since she was four, and running with Glenmore AC. She was short listed in the top five finalists and after further questioning, was announced as the 2017 Miss Louth. Emma’s parents Andrew and Jacqui Griffith and younger sisters Aoife and Robyn were in the audience to cheer her on, along with her friends.
‘I really enjoyed it and would be open to doing modelling in future if the opportunity arose,’ she said,
The final of Miss Ireland takes place in September when Emma will find out is she has the chance to follow in the footsteps of Rosanna Davison who went on to win Miss World.
The Miss World finals take place in China and the beauty pageant is one of the world’s biggest TV shows.
