New bus bay on the way for Donore Road will replace old BD pickup

-

WORK on the new bus bay on the Donore Road is progressing well and the new facility is expected to open in the coming weeks.

Local Councillor Paul Bell said he is delighted to see the works progressing on the long awaited bus bay, a project which he pursued for four years in the interests of public safety for commuters using the bus servoce to Dublin and Belfast.

‘I am delighted with the work being done having visited the site over the week to inspect the project which cost in excess of €25,000. The facility which will replace the B-D gate stop will bring to an end issues concerning passenger safety and road safety issues for the hundreds of motorists driving on the Donore Road everyday.

‘My campaign has taken sometime and the need for the facility has been growing each year. I wish to acknowledge the work of the contractors who reduced traffic disruption to a minimum throughout the installation works and also for the work of LCC engineering staff for their processing of the project.’
