-

Louth Rose Aoife Heffron spoke of her ‘extraordinary’ experience at the Rose of Tralee.

‘It was an incredible event to be part of, jampacked, but I enjoyed every moment of it with my Rose sisters!’

The 27 year old Dundalk woman, a PR executive with Boylesports, received huge praise for revealing her own struggles with mental health and hair loss during her live television interview with Daithi O’Se.

‘I was nervous in the minutes before I went on, but I think everyone was,’ said Aoife.

‘Becoming the Louth Rose was a challenge I had set myself, and I really wanted to use this opportunity to speak about anxiety and female hair loss.’

‘ The reaction I have received since then has been overwhelming to be honest, I’ve had so many messages of support I’m just so glad I could use this platform I’ve been given.’

She was full of praise for the Offaly Rose Jennifer Byrne who was crowned the Rose of Tralee on Tuesday night last.

‘Jenny is a perfect fit for the Rose of Tralee, I am absolutely thrilled for her, she will be an excellent ambassador.’

Aoife added that she is ‘really looking forward to the year ahead, representing Louth.’

‘ This really has been a fantastic experience, and I know that from talking to all the other Roses we really want to use this time we have to do as much as we can.’
