-

IN just five short years Drogheda Men’s Shed has grown into a vibrant and talented group who were commissioned to create bespoke gifts as prizes in the national Young Entrepreneurs competition and are currently in the process of building their own boat.

The group, which has grown to 80 members and is expanding all the time, recently held an open day at their premises on the Donore Road. THE open day showcased the huge array of talent at the centre, with everything from garden furniture to dolls houses and much more.

Last year, the group were commissioned to create bespoke handcrafted wooden biro cases for the Young Entrepreneurs competition.

The latest project is a 17 foot boat which a team of nine members are currently undertaking.

‘ THE shed is based a lot around woodwork it would also be a source of income for us, but in saying that the shed ethos is a member can come in at whatever time suits them to come in at they can do whatever they wish to do and they can go home whenever they decide to go home.’

The shed is always open to new members and
