No swim warning over popular Louth beach
A ‘ no swimming’ warning has been issued for one of Louth’s popular beaches.
The coastal waters at ‘Port’ beach just outside Annagassan, have been highlighted in new warnings issued by Louth County Council this week.
In a statement, the local authority warned: ‘Bathers are advised not to swim at Port beach until further notice due to elevated bacteria readings from a sample taken on the 21st August 2017.’
Although no indication has been given as to how long the warnings will be in place, a spokesman for the council confirmed that the waters at the beach have recently been re-sampled.
The local authority say they are awaiting the results before any further updates.
