THE Monasterboice Inn is a Drogheda institution serving both locals and those passing through the town on the old Dublin to Belfast route, for more than 50 years.

The restaurant is renowned for it’s high quality food and warm, friendly welcome and is perfectly situated just 30 minutes from Dublin airport and Tayto Park, 12 minutes from Bru na Boinne Interpretive Centre and five minutes from the world famous Monasterboice Monastic site.

While the restaurant is famed for its succulent steaks and delicious scampi, the menu offers something to suit all tastes, using fresh locally sourced ingredients.

The Daily Edge nominated Donegan’s for one of the 10 best steaks to eat before you die!

And this should come as no surprise as they rear their own cattle on the family farm for the restaurant table. ‘Place on a plate’ is definitely in operation at the Monasterboice Inn.

The popular local establishment works closely with the Boyne Valley Food Series, and holds a terrific event in May of every year as part of this festival of food.

A family run business, the Donegan name is synonymous with top quality food for seven generations.

Now, the family and team at the Monasterboice Inn are delighted to announce the expansion the restaurant, comprising of The Tower Room and The Olivia Macken Suite, two beautiful dinning/conference rooms which are multi-functional and can cater for a huge range of events.

This includes everything from business conferences, corporate events and company training days to family birthday celebrations big and small, weddings, christenings, communions and confirmations.

‘We are delighted to offer our customers this great new facility,’ said General Manager Karl Murphy. ‘It’s hard having to tell the long standing customers, we are booked out for Communion or Confirmation days, which has happened in the past. That won’t happen now.
