Under-15s on learning curve

DROGHEDA United Under 15s made their home debut in the National League on Sunday at United Park and crashed to a heavy defeat at the hands of Bohemians.

However, the match wasn’t as one-sided as the scoreline suggests, in that the visitors scored most of their goals from slack marking at set pieces and their number four - who netted hat-trick - was the difference between the sides.

Despite conceding two goals in each half, the Drogs played the ball well out of defence and endeavoured to play football all the way through.

The League rules at this level allow for roll-on roll-off substitutions at any time and each half is of 40 minutes duration.
