CHILDLINE.
The Louth/Meath branch of the ISPCC is recruiting for it’s Childline service and the next training course is due to start at the end of September. It recruits volunteers from all over the Louth and Meath area and is eager to add to it’s fantastic team. The first step in becoming a volunteer is to attend an information evening (on one of a choice of evenings). This is an opportunity for people to come along and hear about the service, and what is involved in volunteering. They would also have a chance to hear from an already active volunteer. Scheduled dates are Monday 28thAugust, Tuesday 5th September and Thursday 14th September. All sessions will begin at 6.30pm, and anyone interested is invited to attend. They will be held at it’s office in Drogheda (Distillery House, Dyer Street, Drogheda, Co Louth). Anyone interested in attending one of the information evenings should contact Danielle Lambe on 041-9809964 or dlambe@ispcc.ie to book a place.

CREATIVE WRITING CLASSES
Venue: Ardgillan Castle, Balbriggan, starts Mon 11th and Tues 12th September 2017 10.30am-12.30. This course for beginners explores a range of topics, from character and plot development to voice and style. Through writing exercises and examples from literature, participants will develop an awareness of various literary tools and techniques. These classes provide space for the writer, to share their work in a supportive workshop environment. PUBLIC MEETING
On Monday 11th September at 8 p.m. there will be a public meeting in the Church of Ireland Parish rooms to discuss getting CCTV into the centre of our village. Sharon Keogan, Sgt. Dean Kearns, and a CCTV expert will be on hand to fill us in on all the details. This will also be an opportunity for people to sign up for our Text Alert which costs €6 annually. Many thanks to Donal Black of Blacks Nurseries who has put up another 4 Text Alert Signs on the North side of our village.

The club Strokeplay Championships will take place tonight Tuesday 29th August with tee off from 6p.m. The course will be closed this Wednesday and Thursday due to the races. Good luck to all our members in the Meath Matchplay championships this weekend at the Ratoath club.

Congratulations and nest wishes are sent to Tanya Hanratty and Darren Henry who were married on Saturday 19th August in the church of Mary Immaculate Collon. Following a lovely ceremony by Fr. Murphy the bridal party and guests travelled to the New Grange Hotel in Navan for a wonderful reception.
Assisting the beautiful bride on the day were her bridesmaids Leanne Finnegan, Aileen Murphy, Gillian Moynaghan and Gemma Skelly
Best men for the handsome groom were Daniel Fondly, Christopher Heart, Ryan Leary and Stephen Campbell. Flower girls were the stunning Ellis May Smyth and Kacie Gilbert and page boy was the adorable Jamie Henry.
Darren is a son of Tommy and Margaret and Tonya is a daughter of James and Jackie. We wish the happy couple life long health, happiness and good fortune.
