-

O RAGHALLAIGHS OLIVER PLUNKETTS 0-22 1-17

O Raghallaighs missed out on the promotion play-offs despite coming out on top in this entertaining Drogheda derby on Saturday evening.

The North Road side not only needed to win but were also hoping that St Josephs would slip up against St Mochtas if they were to clinch a place in the top four. Although they managed to pick up two points in this encounter, the Joes defeated Mochtas at the same time to claim their place in the play-off.

In a high scoring encounter, the O Raghallaighs attack was in fine form with Ben Rogan, Chris Smith and Ruairi Moore particularly impressive as they finished with a combined total of 14 points.

It was close from the opening minutes and at the interval the Oliver Plunketts had edged ahead by 0-9 to 0-7.

With the Plunketts already safe in the division, the O Raghallaighs had the greater desire for the victory and they added an impressive 15 points to their tally before the final whistle sounded. The Mell side kept themselves in contention with a goal from Emmet Kelleher but the visitors did enough to secure the win.
