STABANNON PARNELLS SEAN MCDERMOTTS 1-17 4-5

STABANNON Parnells ended the league season on a winning note when they defeated Sean McDermotts in a lively encounter.

The home side overcame an interval deficit to claim a victory that was inspired by top scorer Aonghus Giggins who finished the game with a total of nine points.

Stabannon kicked some nice points in the opening half but the McDermotts where sharp in front of goal and hit the net through Peter Osborne (2) and Brendan McGahon to lead by 3-2 to 0-10 at half time.

The Parnells continued to find their range after the break while a goal from Dean Lynch had them in a strong position. The McDermotts kept in touch with the help of a Kevin McMahon goal but they couldn’t bridge the gap and the home side held out for the win.
