Car almost hit patrol vehicle

A man accused of dangerous driving after he almost collided with a garda patrol vehicle has been disqualifi­ed from driving for two years at Drogheda District Court.

Ben O’Brien (23), Hardmans Gardens was accused of dangerous driving, having no insurance and driving without a driving licence arising out of the incident in Pearse Park on January 13th, 2017.

In evidence, gardaí said that while carrying out enquiries in Pearse Park on the date in question he observed a Black Honda Civic car. He said the vehicle was sliding from side to side in excess of the speed limit and almost collided with the patrol vehicle. Judge John Coughlan disqualifi­ed the defendant from driving for two years for having no insurance and dangerous driving and imposed two €200 fines.
