Curley Hole is now in need of some attention

-

I GOT some correspondence recently about the area at Curley Hole and decided to have a closer look.

And true enough, the area has become overgrown and in need of a major clean up.

‘In the past Louth County Council maintained the area by way of grass cutting, strimming, the provision of several picnic tables, bins and bin collection. The amenity was enjoyed by anglers, walkers, widlife enthusiasts, photographers, walkers, picnickers, day trippers, tourists and many others. For years now, the spot has not been maintained and is now wild and overgrown with weeds, tall grass etc,’ the writer remarked.

They quite rightly point out it has huge potential for people to park up and enjoy the delights.

Indeed, from a safety point of view, I spotted a lifering which was almost inaccessible due to briars.

Maybe someone from the heritage and environmental section of the council would pop down and have a look.
