Junction works

-

FUNDING has been granted for work to creat a staggered junction at King William’s Glen and the council are hoping to carry out the necessary work next year, it has been revealed.

Speaking at the September meeting of Drogheda Municipal District, Senior Engineer Pat Finn said the council are hoping to acquire the necessary land this year with work to be done next year.

The news has been welcomed by local Councillor David Saurin who said the purchase of the Coillte lands will facilite the construction of a staggered junction at the bottom of the Glen onto the Slane Road.

He said: ‘With the increase in visitors and tourists to Oldbridge House and the increase in population in the local area, this road has become even busier in recent years and so the realignment of the junction will enhance safety for road users.’
