True grit sees Cooley home in thrilling final
TRUE grit was the only way to describe Cooley Kickhams performance in Darver as they lifted the U-12 Division 1B League title.
It was nip and tuck all the way against a gallant Kilkerley Emmets side, with one point separating the teams at half time, Cooley on top by the single point.
And so it continued after the break, as score for score they cancelled each other out.
Cooley stormed into a fivepoint lead, but still Kilkerley wouldn’t throw in the towel and pegged it back to all square with time running out.
It Could have gone either way at this point, but Cooley struck back straight away with a goal from Shane Murphy followed by two additional quick points from Jack Craven to seal the win.
