Walker bags four goals in Tones win

TONES gained a clear cut victory over Ardee in the final of the Louth Minor Hurling League at the Gaelic Grounds, Drogheda, on Sunday last winning by 5-3 to 4-0.

For a final the match never produced the fare exepected, but the exchanges were interesting, enough right through the entire hour of the game.

Ardee led at the interval by 3-0 to 1-2, but Tones improved considerably in the second half and their four goals proved too much for the visitbrs who had only one score, a goal in this period.

The winners were well served by T. Howard in goal. E. McGuffin, N. Byrne, F. Leech, N. Kierans, and J. Nash.

Their scores came from A. Walker 4-1, P. McNally 1-0, F. Leech 0-1 and K. Doyle 0-1.

For Ardee J. Harmon, E. Byrne, B. Landy, A. Melia, and M. McCreanor were outstanding, while S. McCreanor 1-0, A. Melia 1-0, P. McKeever 1-0, and E. Byrne 1-0 had their scores. Referee. Jimmie Mullen.
