ARCHBISHOP’S ARDEE LINKS
AFTER spending what he described as a very pleasant holiday here, His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Brian J. McEnteggart, Archbishop of Brooklyn, was seen off by relatives from Louth, Meath and Dublin on Monday at Dublin Airport.
The relatives included Mrs. M. O’Kane, children and grandchildren, Drogheda; Mrs. M. McCutcheon, children and, grand children, Sandyford, Dublin ; Mrs. Mary McEnteggart, children and grandchildren, of Ardee.
This was the Archbishop’s first holiday in Ireland for four years, and since then the deaths have taken place of his brother, Patrick, and cousin, Thomas McEnteggart, Fair Green, Ardee (April of this year).
On one of his previous visits, Dr. McEnteggart, then Titular Bishop of Aradi. and Rector of the Catholic University of Washington, received the. honorary degree of LL.D. from Mr. Eamonn de Valera, Chancellor, National University of Ireland. The Archbishop (keenly interested in Gaelic football) is son of the late .Mr. Patrick McEnteggart of Drumconrath. His mother was formerly Miss Kate Roe of Ardee. Both parents emigrated to the U.S,
