ST MARY’S OPENING

THE blessing and opening of the new facilities at St Mary’s GAA Club, Donore, takes place on Saturday, September 16th at 4.30pm.

As St. Mary’s has reached this fantastic day with the completion of our new dressing rooms, toilets, referee’s room, at a cost of €420,000, our attention is now focusing on the next phase of our development.

This includes the construction of a sports hall/community hall, kitchen/meeting room and a perimeter walkway.

Even if we get grants from the usual sources, as we have in the past, it will still leave a significant shortfall.

We are appealing to the business and farming sectors of our parish to help us with this vital project for the benefit of young and old in our area.

If you could be so generous to make a donation it would be greatly appreciated. If Saturday the 16th is not suitable to visit us there is always somebody available to show you around.

COMMUNITY FIRST RESPONDER

THERE will be a meeting of the Tenure Community First Responder group on Tuesday 12th September in the Monasterboice Inn @ 8pm.

If you are interested in helping your community by becoming a responder, just learning CPR can help in running the group, then please come along on the night.

A Community First Responder is a member of the public who volunteers to help his/her community by responding to medical emergencies while the ambulance is on its way. He/she is then able to provide an early intervention in situations such as a heart attack or cardiac arrest or chocking or stroke before the National Ambulance Service crew arrives. The Responder’s role is to deliver an emergency and urgent care response for their communities. We are also planning to purchase and locate AED’s in public locations in the community.

Further information can be obtained by ringing Fintan on 086-8519518 or Feargal on 0872232087, emailing tenurecfr@ gmail.com or by visiting us on Facebook Tenure Community First Responders Group or twitter @TenureCFRGroup
