CARERS GOLF CLASSIC

THE Carers would like to say a big thank you to everyone who played, sponsored holes, helped out on the day, donated prizes or bought tickets for the raffle in their recent golf classic.

A special thank you goes out to Townley Hall Golf Club who helped them organize everything and without their help the day would not be the success it was. The winning teams are as follows: 1st was Mick Reilly, Robert Lloyd, Seamus O’Brien &Mal McMahon. 2nd was Paul McAuley, John McAllister, Dessie Johnston & Mick Foley. 3rd was Pat Smith, Michael Smith, Noel Smith & Sean Walsh. PARISH NEWS

MELLIFONT (Tullyallen) Parish choir currently seeks new members to assist with Sunday celebratio­ns and solemn occasions throughout the year. If you feel that you could contribute your gift and time to the choir then you are most welcome. If you are interested contact Maura Callan our Parish Music/Choir director on (041) 9826807 or feel free to speak to Maura after Mass on Sundays when the choir is singing.

For the next few months we are offering the Sacrament of Baptism at 3 pm on Saturday. If 3pm is more suitable then we will make it permanent.

MEN’S SHED

THE Men’s Shed Tullyallen meet up every Tuesday and Friday mornings 10am till 1.00pm. This is open to all men in the Parish and surroundin­g areas. Everyone has something to offer the Shed they would be delighted to get new members on board. They are currently in process of obtaining a site for their workshop.

SLIMMING WORLD TIMES

SLIMMING World have two classes each week on Thursdays. The first class is 5pm and the second is 7pm. Why not head on down to the Glen Emmets Clubrooms and get on the right track.

GLEN EMMETS CLUBROOMS

THE Glen Emmets have a function room and a meeting room available for meetings or parties.

LOTTO RESULTS

RESULTS for the Glen Emmets Lotto held Tuesday, 5th September 2017.

The Grand Prize Draw for €10,000 was held and there was no winner. The numbers drawn were 2, 17, 22 & 32. The second draw for €1,500 there was no winner for that draw, the numbers drawn were: 2, 22, 24 & 30 The Lucky dip winners for €25 are as follows: Ann Pentony, Linda Smith, Tracey Gough & Paul McAuley.

CREATIVE WRITING CLASSES

ARDGILLAN Castle, Balbriggan, starts wed 27th September and Thursday, 28th Sept 2017 10.30am-12.30 and Skerries Community Centre, Monday 18th September 10.30-12.30

These courses, suitable for beginners or improvers explore a range of topics, from character and plot developmen­t to voice and style. Through writing exercises and examples from literature, participan­ts will develop an awareness of various literary tools and techniques. LOCAL MUSIC CLASSES

ALAN kelly School of Music reopened on the 4th of September. Lessons are for adults and children and are available on Piano, Keyboard, Guitar and Accordian.

USED CLOTHING COLLECTION

JUST a reminder that the Glen Emmets bi-annual clothing collection takes place on Saturday, 23rd September, 2017.

They are looking for any unwanted clothes, duvets, curtains, shoes, etc. They can be dropped to the club rooms or contact Marie Russell on 0876876870 to arrange a drop off time.

RECENT MEATH VINTAGE FUN DAY

THE Meath Vintage group would like to say a very big thank you to everyone that came along and supported their recent fun day.

With proceeds going towards the Tullyallen Carers there was plenty of local support. The good old fashioned day had a glamorous Granny competitio­n won by Clare Carton and by all accounts everyone had a great time. Well done to the Meath Vintage organizers.
