The Lions and seniors go dancing on October 1

-

THE Drogheda Lions Club are once again hosting their very successful annual Senior Citizens Afternoon Tea Dance on Sunday, 1st October in the Westcourt Hotel during Positive Ageing Week. This year, the Club will play host to 250 senior citizens.

This event is a huge success every year and the organisers are positive that this year’s tea dance will be just as popular.

“The Drogheda Lions Club motto is simple... ’ We Serve’, says President Franklin Fernandes. ‘I am delighted that so many of our senior citizens will enjoy a great afternoon kindly sponsored by so many of our local business people and members. Without them, we could not put on such an event.’

Transition Year students will be there to help out on the day. ‘I hope the TY students will be able to stand the pace that was set last year when we all had our legs danced off ’ he said. Live music will be provided by Tom Maguire and his band DecO5.

The Tea Dance is free and open to all senior citizens in the town, but entrance is by ticket only. Tickets are available through your local senior citizen groups or by contacting the Drogheda Lions Club on 087 281 5714 or via e-mail: droghedalions@gmail.com
