AgriKids farm safety

-

LOCAL business AgriKids will be at the National Ploughing Championships this week delivering safety training workshops for children, it has been revealed.

The business will be teaming up with Zurich to promote Farm Safety through the mini farm safety workshops as well as asking all children to make their ‘Farm Safety Pledge’. During the course of the three day event, which has become Europe’s largest outdoor exhibition and agricultural trade show, AgriKids will have their ‘Farm Safe Tree’, explains Julianstown resident and AgriKids Founder, Alma Jordan. ‘

All the children can make a promise on how they will become farm safe’, they then write this promise on a special leaf which is hung on the tree. We did this at the Tullamore Show, it was a great success and really got the children AND PARENTS talking together about how they will be safer on the farm’. The partnership is part of an exclusive three year deal and also includes a nationwide roll out of farm safety workshops facilitated by Ms Jordan.

Over the past 22 months, Alma has conducted these workshops to over 4500 primary school children. Taking part in school and library events as well as agricultural shows all around the country.

Alma said: ‘I have been working hard on proactively addressing attitudes to farm safety by engaging and educating our children, empowering them to be our farm safety ambassadors.’
