Choir to sing hearts out
GERRY Simpson and the Augustinian Gospel Choir will take to the stage at the Augustinian on Friday September 29th for a special fundraising concert (8pm).
A memorial garden, to recall those killed in traffic accidents and those who died by suicide, is being presently prepared at the church.
It os seen as a place for people to go and seek some solace or simply to recall those they loved.
A major feature of the garden is a mural by local artist Ciaran Dunlevy which is presently being worked on.
It is an image of a stained glass window - only done on brick!
The concert will also feature Tomasina McGinnity and Gerry Mulroy. Tickets for the event are €15 and can be obtained for the church office or from Gerry Simpson at 0872606891.
Gerry promises a real mix of performance, with more modern music, with some classics.
‘It should be a very memorable night and we hope to really get people involved with some hand clapping.
‘ The new garden will be very special and we are delighted to be doing our bit for it.’
