Lourdes lay down a marker

-

LOURDES Celtic continued their fine start to the new season with this victory over Donacarney Celtic on Sunday.

In-form striker Conor Barton put them ahead with a neat finish and Lourdes extended their lead through playmaker Santi who beat the offside trap, raced through on goal and coolly slotted home.

Donacarney replied with 10 minutes remaining, but the home side restored their two-goal advantage when the impressive Ben Buckley was quickest to react to a loose ball inside the box.

Donacarney scored again in injury time, but it was too little too late for them as Lourdes picked up all three points to emerge as one of the contenders for promotion this season.

Best for the winners were Paul Fleming, Rory Everitt, Jason Cronan and Chris Jein.
