TERMONFECKIN ALBION BLACK 0 4

ALBION Black Under-13s got their competitive season off to the perfect start when overcoming a spirited Termonfeckin side in this SFAI Cup first-round tie on Saturday morning.

Jake Neilon put the away side in front on 10 minutes when bravely heading past the onrushing keeper and Liam Osbourne made it 2-0 when he made the most of some confusion in the Termonfeckin defence.

Lorcan Lynch then scored the goal of the game, lobbing the Termonfeckin goalkeeper from the edge of his own box, to give the Monasterboice side a comfortable interval lead.

Termonfeckin gallantly fought hard in the second half, but it was the away team who added to their tally when sub Hugh Kenny cleverly sold a dummy in the box to tee up Alex Hermitage who fired past the keeper.

Among Albion’s best players were Paul Murphy, Neilon and Gideon Kabi, but their man of the match was Darragh Russell. ALBION BLACK: Eric Winters, Darragh Russell, Dylan Hanratty, Gideon Kabi, Paul Murphy, Jake Neilon, Alex Hermitage, Keefer Carolan, Lorcan Lynch, Liam Osbourne, Pearse Branigan, Josh Kirwan, Charlie Murphy, Hugh Kenny.
