Tommy McCague
RATHMULLEN Park native Tommy McCague had a heavier suitcase returning home from Canada last month after bagging three medals at the World Dwarf Games.
The highlight of the championships was winning gold in his favourite event, the powerlifting - where he narrowly failed to set a new world record of 140kg - while he also claimed silver medals in archery and marksmanship (shooting).
Tommy’s exciting journey in competitive sport began after he joined the local Aura Leisure Centre and attended the Convention of the Little People of Ireland in November 2011, and two years later he competed at his first World Dwarf Games in Michigan.
