Fianna Fail’s O Cuiv in town for Glenside meeting

-

FIANNA Fail’s spokesman on Regional Development, Rural Affairs and the Gaeltacht, Eamon O Cuiv TD, is set to attend a public meeting in Drogheda on Wednesday, the 27th September next at 8 p.m. in the Glenside Hotel.

South Louth East Meath PRO Anthony Moore said: “We were delighted at last week’s Comhairle Ceantair meeting to get confirmation that Deputy O Cuiv will be coming to speak with us next week. As our spokesman on Regional Development and Rural Affairs, we are looking forward to hearing from him and, in turn, sharing with him our ideas as to how Fianna Fail can help boost Drogheda and its hinterland in the years ahead.

‘We recently submitted a detailed plan to the Department of Local Government, highlighting such matters as the need for it to be granted city status and be given preferential investment status given its strategic location and young, well-educated population, and we look forward to discussing this with Deputy O Cuiv.

‘We will also press our views on how the current government is letting down local rural communities. Deputy O Cuiv is strongly committed to rural development and we will be talking about ensuring proper investment in services like rural broadband and putting in place the right policies to help our vulnerable farming and fisheries sectors to cope with the challenges of Brexit. It will certainly be a lively debate and we would encourage as many people as possible to come on the night.”
