Fears expressed over Slane wall

-

CLLR Wayne Harding has asked for swift action to take place to fix the situation on the N51 east of Slane village that has led to a stop go system being put in place on a very busy national route.

The councillor said he’s been told that there’s concerns with the ‘stability of the wall on the left hand side of the road as you leave Slane village heading for Drogheda.’

The council say it is a health and safety matter. ‘I have talked to the nearest affected residents who are actually living in between the traffic lights and enter the road not knowing which light is red or green?,’ he stated.

Meath County Council officials have committed to liaising with the residents on the ongoing matter.
