Learning the fine arts at Scoraiocht classes

-

Dear Sir,

SCORAIOCHT Lannleire Classes are off to a great start this season. In one class we peeped into at least 12 little students were all learning the Tin Whistle for the first time.

Teacher Siobhan Farrelly explained that she had such a huge responce that she will need to create more classes of six students per class over th next few weeks.

The guitar class numbers are up as well with Cornac Sharkey and Niall Mc Cullough taking charge in this area. All this is under the direction of local Traditional Musician Liam Reynolds.

Also we have a huge interest in the new Saturday Morning Classes which will be up and running very soon at the Teach Scoraiocht.

Many parents of young students are enquiring about learning an instrument themselves at the Saturday Morning Classes which will be for the advanced students and mature beginners.

Liam as musicial director brought a show to Frongoch Wales to commemorate the 1916 Rebellion.

He also brought a show to Kilkenny last year to help former Dunleer Man Teddy Malone to raise funds for the local Castlecomer Retirement Home.

He also brought his own group the Full Shilling to Galway recently to support local husband and wife team of Paul and Karen Mc Govern in their marathon Walk from Malin Head to Mizen Head in support of MS

We are blessed to have Liam in Scoraiocht

Liam’s Daughter Molly and her friend Laoise Fogarty daughter of Hugh Peter Conlon have both started Fiddle Classes under the direction of Teachers Charlotte Lynch and Bartle Woods.

It is wonderful to see the musuc pass from generation to generation.

Yours, PRO, Tommy Mc Cabe
