DIFE all-weather is huge boost to local sports

FOR years we have been crying out for a proper full size, all weather surface for the town of Drogheda and I’m delighted to say it has arrived.

The new facility at DIFE at The Twenties is magnificent and great credit to the college for delivering on this (right).

The surface is first class and hopefully means there will never be a game called off in Drogheda again!

It did however get me thinking. There is a huge piece of land at the side of the playing pitches at St Oliver’s CC and an all weather there would be a terrific amenity for that side of the town too. I wonder what is the long term plan for that patch of ground.

Beechgrove needs a lick of paint

THE roundabout at the Beechgrove has proved a great success but it seems more and more people are starting to drive over it, rather than around it. Hence, it’s losing a lot of white paint so the message is clear - give it a paint job!
