Dunleer’s Thomas Davis GFC create history

THE Second Division Championsh­ip medals were presented to the Thomas Davis G.P.C. at a victory ceili in Dunleer on Sunday night.

Mr. P. Faulkner, N.T., said it was the first time in many years that championsh­ip medals were awarded to a Dunleer team and he hoped to see another victory ceili a year hence when the Junior championsh­ip meduls would be awarded.

“This is tho first team in Ireland to win a championsh­ip under the name of Thomas Davis,” continued Mr. Faulkner. “and, moreover, this new team won the medals in their first year together.’

Mr. Sean McKeown, Vlce-President, then presented the medals and congratula­ted each of the recipients.

Music for the ceili was supplied by McCusker Brothers. Armagh, and Mr. William Gaffney was a capable master of ceremonies.
