Des retires from Malta Services

THERE was a fond farewell at Malta Services Drogheda recently when Chairman Mr Desmond Carroll KM retired after more than 30 year’s involvemen­t with the service.

Des has been a long standing board member and will be sadly missed by all who knew him and had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Emilie Crawley Fay and Karl Bourke made presentati­ons to Des on behalf of the Advocacy Group, ‘ The Voice of Malta’ in recognitio­n of his long term service in the organisati­on.

Service Director Claire Byrne thanked Des for all his work and dedication over his time with the organisati­on and wished him all the very best in his new role as Chancellor of the Order of Malta in Dublin.

Des addressed all the Service Users and Staff, stating while he has been with the Order of Malta in Drogheda for a long period of timeL: ‘My time as Chairperso­n of Malta Services Drogheda has been one of great satisfacti­on, as we have taken the service to new levels through the ‘New Directions’ programme.

‘It has been a great pleasure to have served in Drogheda, and I look forward to the challenge ahead, in my new role of Chancellor of the Order of Malta in Dublin.’
