ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

THE Annual General Meeting of Broomfield & District Residents Associatio­n takes place on Thursday 5th October 2017 at 8.00 pm in Teach Raithneach.

All Residents and property owners of Broomfield & District are invited to attend. Important items on the Agenda include the Election of a New Executive Board of Management (Committee) for the coming year and the Appointmen­t of Directors.

There will also be an opportunit­y to discuss the Guiding Objectives and Principles that adequately reflect and represent the needs and aspiration­s of the Community of Broomfield and District at this time and into the future.

The Annual General Meeting is an important opportunit­y for the Community to run the rule over the Associatio­n in all its aspects, and it’s work over the last year. CARS BROKEN INTO AT OLD MELLIFONT ABBEY

TWO rented cars belonging to tourists were broken into at Mellifont Abbey recently. Not a great welcome to those visiting the area and making a valuable financial contributi­on to our economy, locally and nationally. BLESSING OF THE ROSES

Blessing of the roses will take place on Sunday the 1st of October at the 11am. Mass to mark the feast of St. Therese. Launch of the Family Prayer Intention Box in preparatio­n for the World Meeting of Families will take place weekend of 30th of September and Sunday 1st of October.

DO THIS IN MEMORY

The First Do This in Memory Mass is on Sunday 8th of October at 11am.. Harvest Sunday will take place at Masses the weekend of Sat 28th of October and Sunday 29th of October. The Rosary is on Sunday 1st of October at 2.30pm in our cemetery.

RURAL ISSUES DISCUSSED

DEPUTY Éamon Ó Cuív TD (Fianna Fail) spokespers­on on regional developmen­t, rural affairs and the Gaeltacht will talk on Wednedsay 27th of September at 8pm. in the Glenside Hotel Drogheda. All are welcome to this talk, and if you are interested in what Deputy O Cuiv has to say on rural issues such as broadband, vulnerable farmers and fisheries especially in light of Brexit, please come along. RESULTS for the Glen Emmets Lotto held Tuesday, 19th September 2017. The Grand Prize Draw for €10,000 was held and there was no winner. The numbers drawn were 16, 27, 30 & 32. The second draw for €1,700 there was no winner for that draw, the numbers drawn were: 4,8, 24 & 29. CARMEL’S Chaerobics Exercise Classes “Sit and Get Fit” as broadcast on LMFM will re-commence in Tullydonne­ll School Hall on Tuesday 26th September 7.30 – 8.30 p.m and every Tuesday for six weeks.
